Ladang Elmina

Ladang Elmina (in Malay language) also known as Elmina Estate, is owned by Sime Darby Plantion Sdn. Bhd. since 2007.

History

Previously (prior to merger) it was owned by Kumpulan Guthrie Berhad. It is located along Sungai buluh - Kuala Selangor road, Selangor, Malaysia. Now it is trapped in the middle of property development which is rapidly taking place surrounding the estate. It was merged with Subang Estate in 2002. There was formerly an oil palm milling plant within the estate but in 2005 it was abandoned due to reduced input of oil palm bunches. There is also a development in the outskirt of the estate called "Saujana Utama" it is developed by Glomac Berhad. The estate has highly potential land for property development. This estate was one of the pioneer estate to plant oil palm for commercial purpose in Malaysia. September 27th 1977 was a very unforgettable day for this estate as one of JAL plane crushed in this estate. The plane crash landed on one of the tallest hill in the estate. We can still find the minor remnants of the plane in the soil surrounding the crushed location. .
